Bradenton Central Community Redevelopment
Agency (CCRA)
With the goals of rehabilitation and economic development of neglected
and blighted neighborhoods, the City of Bradenton created the CCRA
in July 2000. The CCRA’s targeted areas are between 6th Street
West and 27th Street East. See Map With the creation of the CCRA, the City
of Bradenton also demonstrated its commitment to the HOPE VI Bradenton
Village project.
The CCRA prepared a Community Redevelopment Plan in 2001 with the
purpose of defining the CCRA’s role and responsibility and
adopting the Redevelopment Area’s Future Land Use Plan.
Input from public workshops identified the following seven goals
that the CCRA should address:
- Landscaping and community appearance
- MLK, Jr. Avenue as a “community main street”
- Business development
- Business attraction
- Community facilities
- Crime and community safety
- Displacement and relocation
The authority to establish the CCRA is enabled by Sections 163.330-163.45
Florida Statutes. |
